random CTD

I've been trying to figure out why this damn game is giving random CTD's, I fixed the game to where i won't crash when i get to freaking LP... but random crashes are worse to me. I used FOMS for it to auto sort my mods. It's still in beta but I think it was about right because loading it in FO3Edit was okay.

Man that order is so f***ed.

 

 

 

Bunch of cool content though. I'll give you that.

 

 

 

 

 

The only help for this load order or yourself for the matter is to start using FO3edit to load up the whole load order

 

and start viewing the raw data inside all these mods.

 

 

 

 

 

You should also use the merge patch process in FO3edit. Which will take care of a few CTD's

 

You launch FO3edit, then load up the whole list, wait for it to say finished

 

then Ctrl A to select all, right click the selected area, then create merge patch, then save that

 

close it, launch FO3edit, load it all up (the merge patch you saved too) then fix the errors in the merge patch

 

I wouldn't ever remove a entry, just because the rare case where removing a entry causes mass conflicts across the load order

 

rather I would just make the entries all match, or remove parts of a entry (not the whole thing)

 

You can copy paste to fix stuff, or drag an drop stuff to fix it, merge patch needs to be loaded last.

 

 

The Merge patch isn't 100% automated, which is why it works so well.

 

But it only fixes about 25% of the load order's problems (major stuff we all have problems with)

 

while you are fixing the rest of the load order, from top to bottom, you'll no doubt run into stuff you can't fix

 

by the normal means, which is where Overrides come in.
