stebbinsd
Skyrim's current system of couriers are an absolute joke. How does a courier find you in the middle of bumfuk nowhere to give you something? I was hoping that somebody could set up mailboxes in every building where an NPC or the player might can live, and instead of couriers magically knowing where you are (which is kind of creepy), they would simply plant the notes they are meant to deliver in your mailbox. The mailbox they plant it in would be determined based on where your "primary residence" is. To change your primary residence, simply speak to the steward of that hold, telling them you want your home in that hold to become your primary residence (note: Winterhold's residence would be the Hall of Attainment or the Arch-Mage Quarters, depending on your progression in the questline). Your first primary residence would be determined by a slightly more complex. -Accompany Ralof during Unbound, and get the house key from Gerdur, and her house becomes your first primary residence until you purchase your own home (at which point, your first purchased home automatically becomes your new primary residence). Otherwise, your first primary residence would be at the first inn you sleep at, even if you never sleep there again (it wiill remain your primary residence until you buy a home for the purpose of getting your mail). Talk to the innkeeper and ask "Do I have mail?" He'll give you any courier notes you've received since then. If someone were to do this mod, a lot of potentially juicy and fun mods could be created that use this mod as a framework. Just imagine the possibilities: -Couriers now can become a joinable faction.-NPCs' mailboxes can randomly be stuffed with letters that tell you something about the characters. If you're the nosy type, you can spy on people's mail and learn stuff about them. This could add great depth and personality to the game world. And a variety of other things! Get creative!
