Weapons, Factions, Ammo Revised..

So as some you may and may not know. I've been working on a few projects and this being one of them. After a long debate between the critic and the ninja in my head I decided to show some progress. The scope of this mod is to basically add a large variety of Weapons, Ammo, and Addons to the game while implementing them with realistic stats as well as scattering through out the wasteland. Basically making it so your not the only person who happened to discover a nice little arsenal. This mod is intended to be used with alexscorpion's customizable weapons mod. Not only does it make your guns intractable but makes them unbelievably customizable. Everything from adding different scopes to different colored scope lens to different colored scope crosshairs. There are so far 140+ guns I'm adding all with 6+ addons and 4+ colors per weapons (depending on color variations in reality.) You can change everything from gun stock to extended mag to suppressor to sight. I will even add barrel sleeving (chambering to a different caliber size) and extending and shortening for even more unique weapons.

 

Each weapon will have its own ammo based on reality so you actually need to pay attention to the ammo you pickup. I will also be adding these weapons to each faction that I think would have this kinda arsenal based on the rareness of each gun and addon in America as well as accessibility.

 

As of now this mod has no release date because i need all the permissions from the awesome people who made these weapons first. I wont be worrying about release until i am actually close to being done or am finished with this mod. Then i will get permissions and depending on the permission i get i will release those weapons. I am doing this mod solely for myself and while i am open to suggestions I'm pretty stuck in my ways like an old senile man. If you would like to help pm me. I am currently looking for a texture artist and someone who could possibly grab some permissions for me. UPDATE** As well as someone who is a little more skilled with AI packages and NPC/Faction creation then I.

 

As of now i have about 10-15 guns done in game and about 5 distributed to factions. Also about factions I will be making factions designated to the kinda weapons they use. For example you will now have a sniper raider and their name will be sniper raider he/she will only spawn with a sniper rifle and pistol (This is just an example). I need to leave for school now but i will update with lots and lots of screenies when i get home around 7pm pst.

 

I am also working on a few other things and am limited on time so i tend to jump around on mods depending on what side of the bed i wake up on so I'm not always working on this.

I think the SPAS might be to big so i might resize it. The project isn't even in a beta mode yet theres a lot of little things that need perfecting but most guns are finished.

 

****EDIT i have resized the shotgun and made it smaller it looks better now.

 

UPDATE****3/01/10

 

Some new arsenal pictures. I'm starting to get back into modding again. I did the AS VAL and the Kobra optics today. Gonna redo textures on the stock and grip on the VAL and the Kobra.

It sounds like you have become very busy. I hope you find some people to help you with your projects.

 

I advise you to contact for permissions early so that you can better decide what to work on. But of course only a very small percentage of modders will deny permission to use resources and in those cases for some specific reason out of their control. ITs not hard to do. just make a checklist of resources and modders and send a pm to each of them here on nexus.

None of the models are from nexus. Permissions will only affect what is released. If i get no permissions i wont release anything. Again the mods for me. But i will release what i can when its done. I'm still not sure what to do on the screenies but i will probably attempt them today. For those 12 guns theres 76 different models. So I'm trying to figure out how to go about this.

i don't know much about modding but i think fallout uses the same engine as oblivion so i will go from there

 

oblivion had 4 different damage types i think maybe 5

the ones i remember are

fire

frost

shock

weapon damage

and as far as i know fallout only uses the last weapon damage

what i was thinking was to give every weapon some of each element to simulate thresholds

for example

 

10mm pistol with regular ammo has 10 weapon damage plus zero extra a 10 mm pistol with hallow point ammo does 10 plus 10 fire damage but it would only affect armor that doesnt resist fire which power armor would

 

power armor resists 100% weapon and 100% fire so total damage is 0

 

but if the pistol is equipped with armor piercing ammo it would be 10 weapon damage plus 2 shock damage which the power armor does not resist would cause damge

 

power armor resists 100& weapon an 0% shock for a total of 2 damage

 

so different tiers of armor would resist different elements like you said previously power armor would resist all but shock combat armor would resist weapon damage fire damage some frost damage but no shock damage

 

not all weapons would cause all types of damage and the could be quipped with different ammo types like armor piercing and hallow point to do different damage types

 

you could dictate damage types between weapons and ammo and they would have trade offs

 

armor piercing would not do that much damage due to over penetration on unarmored targets but i can do damage as opposed to hallow point ammo which does allot of damage but does not effect armor at all due to mushrooming and lack of penetration

 

i could do all armor and weapon resistances if you like the idea i would just need somebody to make it into a mod

Yes they do use the same engine the fallout version is more watered down tho unfortunately. I understand what your saying here and i will take it into account when i start that part of the mod I'm still trying to get the scripts working with more then 2 ammo types then i will start with ammo penetration etc.

AWSM with one of the custom scope attachments. And you can also see the HK416 I ported in the second screenie. The 416 IS NOT the one that was available on nexus. I did the port myself. Although i do believe they belong to the same original creators NOT what ever his name was that got banned for stealing their work.

Yes thats where i need the texture artist so that while I'm porting they can do some grimy textures. I was actually planning on doing grimy versions for poor conditioned weapons and nicer cleaner version for better conditioned weapons. Because lets face it your gonna keep your gun clean if you want it to work properly that's a main player in weapon operation. As of right now I'm more worried about getting all the guns in game. I will work on the textures after. Some of them will be Unique weapons found in "special" places which will reason as to why the weapons are clean. because your the first to find them.
