LOL50015
I simply don't get it, why put these restrictions? I'm not saying to allow weird symbols but at least all the symbols on your keyboard?
Oubliette
 I don't get your objection. Most places online allow only those.
chanchan05
 I don't get your objection. Most places online allow only those. Well, it's a way to get the same username that's already taken. For example I can use <!Oubliette!> as username if it was allowed.
Oubliette
Copycat usernames aren't exactly a good thing, still there's plenty of ways to attempt to use a username that's already taken using the characters that are allowed already.
TLymond
And anyway, who's keyboard? http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/images/140/1678793-1395743462.png
bben46
The Nexus did not write the entire program that we use for our forums - instead of reinventing the wheel - we license a fairly standard program and customize it where we can. Not everything can ( or should) be customized. Sometimes a change in the program breaks something else. If you scroll all the way down, and look in the lower right corner, - you will see the message:Community Forum Software by IP.Board - Licensed to:Nexus Mods This is where the password system comes from. We have modified it as best we could to fit our needs - Your needs may not be the same as the vast majority of IP board or Nexus users. With over 7 million users, we may not be able to make special changes just for individuals. BTW, I don't recognize that keyboard - what language is it?
