Can someone help me?

I cannot find the file "kids.txt". Without it, as stated in the mod download, I cannot kill the children. I can only knock them uncounscious. Can someone please tell me where I can get this file from? Or can someone send it to me? I suppose it is not that large being a txt file and all.

Thank you!

Yes, in the download tab, there is a file. When you download it, it is called Killable_Children_V1-2-376.rar. A *.rar file is a compressed archive, you can open with a number of programs, such as 7-zip. Once you open and extract the files in the archive, you will note that one of them is called kids.txt. There are also a few .esps and a read me that specifies how you install the mod. Please read it.

I know what a compressed archive is. The problem was that the program I opened it with was WinAce... and it only showed me the first folder "killable children no extras" and nothing else. Very strange! However, thanks to your explanations I thought about trying to open it with winrar and... suprise! IT WORKS! I can see all the files! I decompressed them all and the first thing I did is put a bullet between McCready's eyes!

Zumbs thank you very much for your time! Your help was extremely helpful! :thanks:

p.s. I can see how you must've thought I was either stupid or very stupid :stupid: :( But again THANKS A LOT!

You can also do it in FO3Edit. Simply create a merge patch (Miax's excellent FO3Edit guide will tell you how) and then from the master Fallout esm file, import the NPC kids you want to make "killable" and set their flag to be unessential. Be careful though, there are a few quests where the kids are needed.

This procedure also makes that particular mod unnecessary (unless you want to play as a child race character - Killable Kids adds that option as well).
