doriansavage
So, after much wrangling with NMM, TES5Edit, BOSS and Wrye Bash, I have my mods laid out nicely and mostly bug-free... except for two nagging things. They're relatively minor issues, but they're so immersion-breaking as to be infuriating to me. The first: Frostbite spiders no longer successfully drop from their ceiling trapdoors. They will begin to drop down, but stop and float in midair as if hitting a collision box. The second: the "pillar of light" that sits over top of dragon mounds when Alduin is around (For example, when he shouts at Sahloknir) does not animate properly. It remains static until Alduin shouts, then plays its animation briefly before disappearing. What gives? Any ideas as to what I should be looking for in the mods I have installed? Something's obviously breaking a script or two, especially since a *completely* clean save will work fine while a "recently cleaned" save - i.e. from a game that had mods previously but has had them removed - will still display the bugs. Savegame corruption? Maybe just an orphaned script?
rolloLG
I'm afraid the spiders bug is a poor Skyrim engine internal timings bug. I've still experienced the same on my laptop (with vsync and iPresentInterval=1 of course). The only solution I've found was disabling HPET both in BIOS and Windows, and force CPU turbo boost, or forcing 2/4 cores. This way they fall down smoothly as expected. Notice I've NEVER had any HW issue or strange SW issues, so it must be a Skyrim engine problem... Edited April 23, 2014 by rolloLG
rolloLG
Since this old game engine is heavily video-refresh depending, you may also try http://www.kegetys.fi/d3d-antilag-v1-01/ and test with: [config]RenderAheadLimit=2FPSlimit=0 It solved the timing issues on my gamig MSI GX660 with 7970M Edited April 23, 2014 by rolloLG
