New textures not loading in CS

Having procured some new textures for some Armour for my new mod (a retexture of original armour) I unpacked the necessary meshes from the BSA, loaded them into the folder of my choice and directed the meshes towards the textures using NifSkope. However when these files are viewed in the construction set or in game, they appear with their original texture. Please could some answer my query?

Are you sure the filename and the path are correctly?

If you didn't use an .esp, did you enable ArchiveInvalidation? (To my opinion, replacing it inside your own esp (Mod), preferably with another name for the mesh could be better, as you could easily enable/disable it or..if you desire to upload it, it would be more compatible.)

Well that's the thing, I have renamed the mesh files. Yet it still won't work. I have done some retexturing with some furniture in the game but I made those textures, not these ones.

Hm, did you recheck paths the .nif? They can act strange sometimes inside of vista. I experienced .nif files that just used old paths.

That is my 1st question, does it show correctly inside of Nifskope?

Next, did you use the Textures/meshes folder of oblivion for your new files?

There is an article here on nexus about new-retextured objects., did you follow that one?

That sounds likely. 1) It does register correctly in NifSkope, and 2) I am using Vista. 3) I did use the Meshes/Textures folders of oblivion for my new files. Finally I haven't seen this article, I shall go look for it.
