SS2394161 Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 Normally I don't have a lot of issues with crashes however for some reason i'm having a pretty bad one now. Specifically i'm playing and i'm using the underground house player home, the one with the fish tank in it and such and i'm consistently crashing in the armory either just by walking in or when i attempt to click on the container for parts just above the workbench. My instinct tells me its either A one of the two mods I added today that add an E-11 blaster and various storm trooper armors into the game and or another that adds lightsabers (I'm a star wars fan and they're fun to play with shush up :P) or B the fact I removed about 16ish mods from my game today attempting to help with performance, running 127 mods will hurt your performance with any computer even if just a little. SS2394161 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Share Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Not sure how I need a file when i've played the game for some time without said file and had absolutely no problems from the mods that were directly the mod's fault. I'd rather not add more files for my game to load when my ultimate goal is reducing the number. If you can explain to me why I "need" it i'll add it but as I said i'm trying to reduce the number of files i'm loading so my game runs better and would like to avoid doing so if possible. It also doesn't solve my crashing problem and adding it would likely make the problem worse by adding just that much more the game has to load. I don't see any point in adding the file and as far as I now it would require me to download two other mods because of them being required masters meaning i'd have added 3 files to my game just to do effectively nothing. My ultimate goal is not making new vegas bounties work better in the game (especially since it doesn't cause me issues) its figuring out why the heck my game is suddenly crashing so much in a very specific spot. If you're running two or more of Someguy's mods, you -need- Someguy.esm, or things will eventually get f*#@ed up. Second, have you tried poking around in FNVEdit to see if there are any obvious mod conflicts? If not, do so. Might be something easily fixable by creating a merged patch or shuffling your LO a bit. Third, I see three areas where you could easily cut out about a dozen .esp files while still retaining all their functionality. If you don't mind the plug, I recently published a mod that does the same thing as LFox's Missing Ammo Recipes (pretty much, anyway - granted, the mod I made is a total overhaul of the vanilla system, and right now it only touches Guns ammo). Aside from that, make sure your PN installation is up-to-date - the last time I reinstalled it (yesterday, FWIW), I got an All DLC .esp, not all the individual ones. Same goes for CaliberX and WMX - just make sure you delete all the DLC-related .esps first. Fourth, calm down, take a step back, and think. Did the problem only start after you installed those two new mods? If so, odds are it's one of them that's screwing with things (this is where FNVEdit comes in damned handy). When you try to load a save, do you get the "This save relies on content that is no longer available" warning? If so, find out what went wrong there - could be that your game is shitting itself because you deleted some stuff you had in storage while you were in the same cell as your storage container. Been there, it ain't fun. Again, s#*! like that is why a lot of modders recommend getting and learning to use FNVEdit (trust me, FNVEdit is pretty simple to use, so long as you can read and punch keys). I might have have one or two of the guns stored away most of them i chose to ignore or just didn't use because of finding better ones which is mostly why i removed them. Like I said i've never had issues involving the quests that were directly the mod's fault any I had were caused by me and were easy enough to fix. I do have all of the NVB 1 weapons stored away but i haven't yet started NVB 2 on the save yet. Thats unfortunately not what a merged patch does, a MP just acts as a patch between plugins helping them run better together to actually consolidate mods you have to renumber a bunch of IDs and throw them all into a new file.
