solidsnake1209
On one of my current mods I wanted to go in a diffrent direction. So I opened up the mod and deleted some quests and changed some things, When I tried to combine my original mod with the updated one it said the update stuff was a copy and didn't work. Help
David Brasher
Combining two similar copies of the same mod is a big mess. I tried it once. Never again. The simplest way to modify a mod is to back it up somewhere and then to modify it. (I know. I know. That was a really lame and self-evident sentence that perhaps didn't even need to be written.) Did you try to automatically merge the old and new versions of the mod? I would not expect that to work. I bet you could make it work manually though. If I were you, I would try to merge the old mod with the new mod manually by opening them both at once, with the old mod as active file. Manually go through and change the form IDs of all the parts of the new mod you want to transfer to the old. You might want to just change a few form IDs and then attempt to save, because this action can cause the CS to crash, and you don't want to lose a lot of work. If it doesn't crash, then keep on changing Form IDs and saving often. If the changes were simple to do again, you could just take your old mod and make it like your new mod. But I imagine that would not be simple. Good luck!
