ImNotCrazy44
What is the difference between oblivion script editor and oblivion script extender? I want to be able to use mods like unessesary violence and DMC stylish. I have no idea which thing to use though. I thought the thing called OBSE i was hearing so much about was script editor..could someone explain the diffence and let me know which thing i need? Nexus Set
I thought the thing called OBSE i was hearing so much about was script editor..OBSE is the OBlivion Script Extender. It's name basically says what it does. It extends the scripting platform for the game so more complex mods can be created and added. Unnecessary Violence needs OBSE to work but DMC stylish doesn't. RagnaHighArc
The Oblivion Script Editor is the editor in the Construction Set. The Oblivion Script Extender is OBSE. "OB" for Oblivion and "SE" for script extender.
ImNotCrazy44
So script editor is only for actually MAKING the mods? The extender if the using the really complex mods that were made in the editor?

You'll need OBSE activated as well when using the construction set if you need to access script functions that are only available through OBSE. That's how OBSE dependent mods are created.
