ImNotCrazy44
I just noticed that my potions aren't taking the weight of the first ingrediant. I just made health potions out of ingrediants that weigh .1 of a pound but when I make the potions they each weigh a full pound...what's going on? troyatistic
The simple rule is: the weight of the potions you create is calculated as the average of the weight of the individual ingredients used to make the potion. The full rule is a bit more complicated. The weight of a specific potion is determined by the ingredients used the first time you make that potion. Thereafter, any identical potion will have the same weight. Identical means the potion must have the same name, the same list of effects (in the same order), and the same magnitude and duration of each individual effect. This is what UESPWiki has to say on potion weight. Have you made the same potion with heavier ingredients before? That would be the cause of your problem. ImNotCrazy44
Oh...crud...i might have...thank for the info. Is there any way to fix this problem I've gotten myself into? I thought it varied each time you make potions.
Iapetus
Just keep making potions. When your alchemy skill goes up, the effects for the potion will change in duration/intensity, effectively making it a brand new potion. So, after your skill goes up, always use the lightest ingredients you can find for that all-important first potion.
