new companion patrol command

that mod is great, but Its missing the one thing I'm looking for.

I think I can put it more succinctly this time.

you know how when a NPC hears something, they go "what's that" and randomly search around until they think the threat is gone.

What I want is a way to witch that program on and off at will.

so, I can't find that in the mod, unfortunately.

Ah, yeah that's an AI package, patrol. I think that could be added fairly easily. I'll see about contacting the author and getting permission to modify his mod. If that doesn't come through, I suppose I could just tack on the same thing via addScriptPackage, and a few message box's on some token item. I think you had mentioned something about a radio in the earlier part of this post?

yeah, that would be to call them back all at once. I use multiple companions all the time, so it would get a little tedious to track down each one once the job is done, hence the radio or similar device.

on an unrelated note, how's the zeppelin mod going?

Well as you know from teh previous thread, two of my four suggestions are a no go, so that leaves only two other options. Moving them via a animated nif or via script as I detailed in the post above.

The script takes a toll on resources but is probably not a huge deal for a mid level or higher machine (say I3+ 3000Mhz+ and a 460+). We'd just need to find a public domain free to use model that can be imported into a nif the game recognizes. If that's the direction you want to go, then that's something you can do.....so that you can choose a model you like. Take a look at google 3D warehouse and pick one you'd like to use (all models on there should be free to use since it's a prerequisite of their terms of use).

If we want to do it the right way (an animated nif) then we will have to have another modder do it, or wait until I can learn some basic animation in blender.
