i_fell
I'm a newbie modder to the Bethesda games (amateur of many other, but somehow I've over looked Bethesda games until a couple months ago) and I am working on a New World kind of Mod to learn all aspects of modding. I'm converting the thematic intent of an old D&D game world I created years ago into a new world for Oblivion. I have been looking over every tutorial I can find and reading through forums looking for Q & A relevant to my intent. I also have a few other potential mods I'd like to make some of the other questions apply to that. In GECK, after I feel completely comfortable with the TESCS, I hope to work on a Chrono Trigger Mod and a Gibson-esque Night City based on Talsorian Maps. So any advice on those will be taken with great appreciation. Is it possible to convert a Civilization 4 map into a basic height map? Is it possible to transfer the tile sets from Oblivion into Fallout 3? Is it possible to make a mod allowing hit locations in VATS with melee weapons? Pronam
--Is it possible to transfer the tile sets from Oblivion into Fallout 3?Yes, but you can't upload it...it is against the rules. (and would bring this site into big trouble..)--Is it possible to make a mod allowing hit locations in VATS with melee weapons? No, the game simply isn't build for that. If you get hit, you get hit..it doesn't matter where.. There isn't a 'Headshot' possibility..The feet hurts as much as the head.--Is it possible to convert a Civilization 4 map into a basic height map?Oblivion and C4 have some similarities, but I've never seen that one yet. I guess it could be possible, but not inside CS I guess .. as it would have to have the same extension in order to load into CS. Again, I don't know what problems that could give as that would still be game-to-game content. Welcome to the nexus forums (and as a fellow 7 user!) and good luck with your projects! RebelOConner
It's also necessary to specify that bethesda forbids the passage of material from a game to another one.Morroblivion project is a perfect example.
i_fell
I didn't know the cross game rule for Bethesda, thank you for that most of all. That prevents me from attempting some ideas before I start them.I'll try and see if I can wrap my head around FOSE for some advanced melee stuff. The Civ 4 map thing was just wishful thinking. Thanks again.
