Blu_Minx89
OK, so I just got Fallout 3 for PC a few days ago. I got some mods, but when I downloaded weapons they all looked like they do in the picture. I was told to extract files to the data folder (I did) and use FOMM package thing (Again, I did) and I tried playing, but got these odd looking guns. Basically, the weapons look messed up, and I'm not sure why. I don't play PC games much (This being the first I've used mods for) so I have no idea what to do. This is probably a simple question, but I'm a total noob at PC modding.
Ryuukon
Start FOMM up again and click the "Toggle Invalidation" button.
Skree000
what you are seeing there is the new models with vanilla textures applied. This occurs when fallout3 is not 'allowed' to look for custom content. To enable fallout3 to recognize custom content, you can do as Ryuukon said above... and ALSO Make sure "bInvalidateOlderFiles=0" is set to "=1" in your fallout.ini file.(located in MyDocuments/Mygames/Fallout3/ )
Blu_Minx89
That worked, thank you. However, is there a way for my game to stop lagging when I go into the Megaton Armory? I have Ahztek's Megaton Armory mod that has all of his weapons in it, but whenever I walk in there I have extreme lag since there are many different weapons. WastelandRedneck
Probably not, most likely your PC is having trouble drawing all the wep polys. Only thing you could do is turn down the visual qualities.
Blu_Minx89
OK, I tried setting the bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 to 1, but I can't. I found it, I made it 1, but when I tried to save it it said it couldn't create the file.
Skree000
was your game running when you tried to edit the file? try closing the game, closing geck, then edit the file if that doesnt work try editing the file properties and uncheck read-only
