Self shadows when in first person perspective. By this I mean shadows cast on the floor etc. not on my characters body.

I always play in first person and would love to be able to see my own shadow but I can only see it while in third person. Can anyone fix this?

When you're in first person you actually don't have more than just a set of arms. That's why there isn't a shadow :)

That's why the fps is much better when you view from first person, it isn't just the shadow that's left out. Go to the console, enter TFC and turn around ( and zoom a bit out) so you can see how the first person actually looks like. Shadows cast from bodies (vs the sun) and with just a set of arms it would look funny, so I guess that's why they disabled it.

Thanks. I'm well aware of how my char looks in 1st person mode when it's viewed from 3rd person via the console. Does that mean that I can never see my shadow in first person or at best only a shadow of my arms? What if the third person shadow could somehow be transfered to the first person model? There are already mods which let you view your body when looking down etc by tranfering third person model data to the first person model and these do in fact allow you to see your own shadow in first person mode. (see http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18617 for an example) However, my main character uses the Nords With Beards mod ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8405 ) and I get major clipping errors when using any "see your own body" mods. A solution for me would be a similar mod but a "shadow only" version.

It could be possible, but is sounds rather advanced. To me it seems like a good question to ask at the official forums, as I don't know if someone would know about it here. I get your point though, I found the lack of a FP shadow rather dissatisfying as well..
