Nifscript -- WTFH?!?!

Software is not my strong suit; I'll admit that upfront. But when I'm told to set up something step-by-step, and it doesn't work, and I'm made out to be the jackass....

I get irked, in a big way.

Unnecessary Violence, for example. I'm a patient soul, but that thing makes me want to tear someone a new ear (or two). According to it, I'm supposed to install Nifscript. I come to you folks, as I invariably do when it comes to all things Oblivion, and get the file. It ends up being a driver file. Now, from the way the guy who put UV together acts, Nifscript is s'posed to be some big program or sommat, including a batch file (which is s'posed to be in the download, by the way {WRONG!}). So, I do what I can with what I'm given.

I walk through UV's readme....

STEP. BY. STEP.

And yet, when I run UV in Oblivion, IT NEVER WORKS! It informs me that Nifscript isn't installed, and that I shouldn't go whining to the creator if I "can't read the rules."

For the record, I am not running any mods that are on UV's incompatible list. That being said, I would like an answer to one simple question:

WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND THE CLEVELAND FREAKIN' BROWNS AM I SUPPOSED TO DO TO MAKE THIS THRICE-DAMNED MOD RUN RIGHT?!?!?!

An answer would be appreciated.

I have the same problem, it seems that the name change of NifScript into NifSE is causing the problem, from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21292 :

=== Using mods that require NifScript ===

NifSE cannot identify itself to OBSE as NifScript. Therefore, plugins that check to see that NifScript is installed will not recognize that NifSE is a functional replacement. Therefore, to use mods which require NifScript, you must have NifScript installed (the old download is still available on TES Nexus). NifSE will overwrite NifScript's functions with improved, cleaner functionality, fixing a few bugs and preventing hard-drive bloat, but NifScript has to be there for mods that check for it.

It says that the old dl is still available, but i can`t find it for some reason, so if anyone has a link it would be really appreciated...

Nevermind, i just figured it out, the file i needed was on the NifSE page, in the "files" tab download and install the file "NifScript 0.90" and the problem should be solved...
