Blake81
Well that really helped :thanks: .I don't know(yet) if it got rid of the crash but it got rid of that error that didn't let me update to 1.7(that ``can't find ordinal something60 at the wachamacallit of xlive.dll´´). EDIT:No,it didn't work,it's still crashing but at least I got rid of other minor issues.

csb
As an update: The newest version of K-Lite codecs already has ffdshow disabled for Fallout3 and Oblivion by default (along with a host of other games/applications).

spammster
RAM upgrade should be next on your todo list, 1 GB is far to low, get at leats another GB (shouldn't be more than 20 bucks for decent ram) also: you might wanna try and defrag the partition you installed it on, this goes especially for games that have "huge" package files, instead of a gazillion single files. if your fallout3 *.bsa's are fragmented like crazy, it can cause not only problems but also increase loading times and slow everything down in general. just run a defrag tool overnight (nice one for that would be O&O defrag, comes with an additional helpful tool : "Enable Monitoring" once you defraged it, enable monitoring will try to prevent fragmenting (if possible (meaning enough free HDD space) new files will be written in 1 piece on the HDD ignoring windows settings, to fill the HDD from beginning to end) of future files or defrag during IDLE times (usually nights). defragging is free and only requires time, so give it a try, def. can't hurt. Blake81
Well after a week of extensive testing now I'm sure the crash is gone....Someone should put in a list of known issues in case somebody else has the same problem.
Gaikotsu Akunin
I got crashes ALOT. The latest nvidia drivers were the culprit. I rolled back to the 186.18 drivers and all my problems were fixed.
csb
I got crashes ALOT. The latest nvidia drivers were the culprit. I rolled back to the 186.18 drivers and all my problems were fixed. The newest nVidia cards seem to be a bit more stable with the 190-something series patch. But for 8000-9000 series cards, many users have reported success with the version you installed. biosman
yeah the freezing was a serious issue, especially after installing 191 nvidia drivers,190 were slightly better, had the game freezing every five mins, also stuttering constantly then i installed the 186 and no more worries, all mods work no crashing, freezing or stuttering.grab them her http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista...86.18_whql.html
