jtucker40
Hey guys, so I've been running into a few issues with my landscape lod files. http://imgur.com/a/AFPtK I recently started using TWMP Hammerfell in addition to the Tamriel Heightmaps/landscapes mods, and ran into this issue with the landscape around the Rihad area in Hammerfell. I redownloaded and reinstalled the mod's landscape meshes and landscape textures but that didn't seem to do the trick. Has anyone else run into this problem before? I have run Tes4Lodgen but that didn't do anything since tes4lodgen doesn't do anything with the landscapes. astrob0y
Ivent toched Hammerfell as mod, so this may be rather stupid of me. But have you tried to use TES4LL?
Carah
I've had similar issues with mods using separate world spaces, and the problem was my load order. I don't know if BOSS will help, but it's worth giving it a try and it should set your load order straight and fix the land. If you don't have BOSS you can get it here: https://github.com/boss-developers/boss/releases/tag/v2.2.0 Good luck.
jtucker40
Ok so I tried running BOSS and nothing really happened with the load order so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Also, I downloaded and attempted to use Tes4LL but nothing happened with that either (given, I did get confused pretty easily). Maybe it's something with the landscape meshes? DrakeTheDragon
The trick with the LOD generator tools is they only 'add' to what's already there. It may not be exactly easy to figure out which files are responsible for this, but in general one has to remove the old LOD files first before these tools will have a chance to help. I don't exactly remember the procedure with landscapes anymore, but I know with LOD objects generated by TES4LodGen it was the case. LOD created from objects from mods I removed never disappeared, until I removed the LOD files first and let them recreate then. What you're having here is landscape 'LOD' still displaying in the near zone, where it should not, up to the point where you can 'walk' right through it. I remember similar issues with using a city LOD meshes package at the same time as using Open Cities. The LOD meshes always covered the 'open' cities' houses and I had to walk through these first to see any of them, until I removed the package for the cities that were now open. Why it didn't disappear when I got close I don't know. Maybe not all LOD does so on its own. Your landscape LOD in this case here clearly doesn't either. I'm not sure what exactly could be the cause here, but if BOSS places the plugins in this order, while I expect tamriel.esp to remain before the Hammerfell one for obvious reasons, this order should be correct. Not exactly sure either what's the business with the TamRes things and the Tamriel.esp, if they belong together or are from seperate mods, but do you encounter the same issues as well in the other provinces plugins for which you're using? If it's a conflict between the Tamriel heightmap and the Hammerfell plugin, then the other provinces should have the same issue as well.
jtucker40
I haven't encountered any problems anywhere else, strangely it's only around that one city in TWMP Hammerfell. I think the cause is probably because the mod author may have editted the heightmap in that area only, since normally that spot is just a seaside cliff that would be very difficult to build a city on top of. That said, I'm not sure how I would go about deleting the old lod file for that quad.
