The Witcher Enhanced Edition Strange ERROR

after i installed The Witcher Enhanced Edition, right after install was done i got massage box what say'd

 

this drive cannot be used due to compatibility issue

atksgt.sys

 

i also want to ask, will that cause i installed W2 before W1 cause issue that W2 wont recognize W1 saves?

 

as i understand this, cause of the issue game cant use my video card drivers?

Win8 64BIT

NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 3GB

 

can it be fixed? is it natural cause it is older game?

Well i can play, it not like i cant play cause of that

game was sett to medium settings, i guess cause of that issue, but i maxed out my settings & no lag, no idea is it bad or not

 

i had no problems with Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition, i installed it first, play'd a bit & decided that it would be nice to import save, & so i installed Witcher Enhanced Edition, & no way in hell is that ERROR cause of that

 

should i let it be & just play?

 

EDIT: game shut downs time to time, maybe cause of that issue?

funny W2 runs Smooth & W1 Lags, funny cause W2 system requirement is much higher then W1 system requirement

The solution is very simple. You need to go to: http://thewitcher.com/en/witcher1 , then click on "Updates" tab. You should see two patches , 1.4 and 1.5 , click on both of them and install both of them. First time install 1.4 and then 1.5 or simply install directly 1.5 patch and the error is fixed. That's it. Game on !

I had the same problem as OP, but my 1.4 patch won't install.

Is it possible to get to know the story of the witcher 1 without playing it? i would like to skip the whole game and start over with part 2 because for me Keyboard/Mouse control sucks. i want to play with my controller but the first part didn't support that. how bad is it to start right over with the second part?
