BloodMercenary
Okay I am still new to this and learning. I load my armor in nifscope successfully, I click on the selected branch, remove branch, save and overwrite mesh. When i copy the new mesh to data and use archive invalidation, the deleted part shows up again in game even though I removed it in nifscope.Question: what is the correct and right way to successfully remove an unwanted piece of armor in nifscope? I tried to find a tutorial. help? Edited April 3, 2014 by BloodMercenary
Carah
This tutorial seems pretty straight forward http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/NifSkope_customise_an_outfit_for_beginners I wondering if archive invalidation might be causing the issue. BloodMercenary
Thank you... Carah. I have been trying and trying to get this one piece off and keeps popping back on. Edit: I used archive invalidatiion each time. this how I been doing it. select branch, remove branch, save file, close. is that right? also I was NOT doing this part here explained in the tutorial : Finishing upGo to Spells / Batch, click Update All Tangent Spaces. This will prevent many bugs. Go to Spells / Optimize, click Remove Bogus Nodes. This will remove all unused parts of the skeleton, useful if you're making an armor addon (Tailor Made style). Don't do this if you intend to add some parts later! Some tutorials advise stripifying TriShapes in Nifskope, I advise against it as this can distort a mesh (ie arms on Tobar's Outfit from Point Lookout DLC). This is best done in Blender. Save. You're done. Gonna go see if it worked... Edited April 3, 2014 by BloodMercenary
Carah
It sounds right to me, but don't skip the steps "Update All Tangent Spaces" and "Remove Bogus Nodes" before saving and adding the mesh to the game. In the link I posted earlier follow the last step called "Finishing Up"... imo, it's the most important step. Good luck. I would skip the Archive Invalidation.
