yellowpaint
I've recently uninstalled Fallout3 from my computer and reinstalled it again.Programs such as FOMS, ArchiveInvalidation, etc that read the registry can't find the folder path and I'm getting weird results in-game. Can someone please tell me where the Fallout3 registry file is so I can change it?
csb
Editing the registry directly is an extremely dangerous practice, you can literally destroy Windows' operability by tinkering in it. First, where did you re-install your game? Per many, many posts etc., somewhere other than the Program Files default installation is highly recommended. Secondly, did you re-install your utilities after re-installing Fallout3? ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated, FOMM and FO3Edit all rely on the registry (as they should). My previous warning kept in mind, the Windows utility regedit provides a basic registry editor. But I cannot stress enough ... any change you make takes place instantly and can totally hose your system. You really, really don't want to be poking around in there. yellowpaint
I installed both times on the same drive, which was not the C: drive. I uninstalled the utilities and reinstalled them multiple times but they keep crashing upon launch (In FOMS' case) or can't find the Fallout folder. I have to manually direct ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated to the Fallout3 folder each time I run it. FOMM is an exception though, which is weird. I don't know if it's related but I'm missing textures and the like in game. Water surface is flat and the heads of NPC's rotate in circles so that they're often looking at you upside down. They also glide across terrain as do raiders, creatures, etc. Nuka Quantam's have lost their glow and basically, the game isn't like it was before. Should i try reinstalling?
