Using Fo3Edit.

Hi everybody, like you may know, I'm new in modding and testing xD.

Last week, I was looking for a mod, and I found one (I didn't use it anyway) and it said something like this:

"You will need to use Fo3Edit, so you can make 99% of your problems with mods go away".

And then, I start looking for a Guide to use it, cos I really don't understand it... By time to time, I found that people reffer to a guide... The Miax's guide.

Can someone, please, give me a download link so I can get that guide?

Thanks you for reading.

Maybe this should be a separate topic, but I can't seem to get FO3 Edit to work. I have FO3 Edit v2.5.3 and

Miax's Tome of FO3 Edit v1.1 08.18.09.

The instructions and diagrams in the Miax guide do not match what I see in FO3 Edit. I seem to only be able to click "OK" for the esp's and esm's and after that nothing appears the way it does in Miax's guide and I cannot do any of the things I need to do for it to work. I do not think there is a newer version of the guide.

Anyway, the only problem I have had so far with the GOTY version and all the DLC's is the save/crash issue at Rivet City after completing Point Lookout.

There is probably a step I am missing with FO3 Edit and after reading the guide and trying to get the edit tool to work 3 times, I need the Forum's help!!!

Actually, there is a new version of the Guide, it's been Web-enized ... Revised and edited text, dynamic images that you can position over FO3Edit while you work are only a few of the new features.

FO3Edit is not that hard to learn, and once you get the hang of a few things, resolving mod conflicts is a breeze. A caveat about the automated Merge Patch function -- it's a great start but it's only the first step. Get the guide and get familiar with it, because in the end you'll end up with a conflict-free and stable collection of mods and a better Fallout3 gaming experience.

Mod authors need to get this tool and Miax's guide (in either its Word form or Web-enized form) and use it. In my collection of 150+ mods, about half have minor issues that were easily fixed if the author had used FO3Edit to clean them up before putting them up on Fallout3 Nexus.

Hope this helps :)
