zixi
Icewind Dale 2 - just bought this as I can't locate an original copy here and I'm wondering if somehow I never actually played this game at the time - 2002. It's possible I missed it as I was in the process of moving house... So far, none of it 'rings a bell'... Anyway, for anyone who likes snippets of interesting stuff - apparently the source code has been lost which is why Beamdog never released an enhanced version. This was done recently by the The Red Chimera Group. Works fine on Linux BTW...
zixi
Still IWD2 - this game is amazing. I found it very hard to keep my party alive though partly because of arthritis I fear... so I equipped everyone with Armageddon armour so they don't die every 3.4* seconds... Since then I've been able to concentrate on the story and what a story it is... Brilliant. * This may be hyperbole...
zixi
Icewind Dale 1 - Trials of the Luremaster. I'm not sure if I played this when it first came out. The arrival place is vaguely familiar but after that there's a blank. It fits very awkwardly into the game so actually when to do the quest was tricky for me so tricky that first time through, I forgot to do it and then couldn't see how I could do it. This means that for this play through I made a new party so I used the Icewind Dale NPC Package. I'm seriously impressed. All the added characters are interesting and I like them - they have real personalities. Voice acting is good too. So this is proving to be a really fun experience. The story is really interesting and a bit different. I really miss these old isometric games - these ones aren't turn based either - I'm not keen on that awful imposed stop. I'm not sure how far through I am in Trials but it has been so much fun that I think I might replay IWD with this party...
zixi
Pillars of Eternity... It had interesting reviews and it's isometric. I went to Steam to buy it and then discovered I'd already bought it quite some time ago - I have very little recollection beyond the first bit which is obviously the training part for newbies. I have no idea why I didn't progress any further either... Not sure what I think of it yet; though it is lovely to look at. Works flawlessly (so far) on Linux via Steam. RedHeadAngel
Aside from Skyrim and Fallout 4, I’ve been enjoying playing Dead Space. I forgot how terrifying that game is.

zixi
Pillars of Eternity - still. It's a big game and I'm enjoying it a great deal. Someone described it as a natural successor to BG1 and 2 but they always say that. This is the first time that I've found myself in any kind of agreement. The depth and breadth of the thing is breath-taking. The story is very engaging and interesting and the characters have depth. I care about them. It is not an easy game to play though and I wish I'd done a lot more preparation before I charged into it. I was all set to be bitterly disappointed so I didn't prepare properly. I'm not sure if my character was the best choice or not. It's very very beautiful too and the interface (GUI) is easily adjusted to the user's preferences. The backers have added all kind of stuff in there so if you take your time to stumble across very nice Easter Eggs and such like. Outside of the mystery, the horror and the battles there is much humour - which I like too. I've noticed there's a board for the game here so I've joined and I'll take my future comments there so as not to bore people here. At least the ones there kind of signed up to being bored by it... And now I actually need to write a paper for my course about gaming, and it's the easiest taks I've ever had. I used some help of this site and I managed to write such an amazing paper I'm not into such types of games, but everyone was giving me positive reviews of that game, so I decided to try it. I was skeptical, but to be honest, I loved it. I like the interface, the graphics are good, and I'd say the game is 8/10 for me. Also, I'm playing Days Gone; I almost finished it. Until Dawn - very interesting game Almost finished The Outlast Trials
zixi
I've finished Pillars of Eternity... however, I didn't realise that I wouldn't be able to do The White March I & II and finish the dungeon in the stronghold so I've had to go back to an earlier save. It's no hardship though as I really like PoE very very much indeed. So, I'm now on The White March. Finished 1 today though there are some side quests I think; but haven't yet triggered WM2. In RL it's been raining a lot...
