Missing Meshes in Caves

Currently I'm having a problem with some missing meshes in caves. So far, the caves I've had problems with are Bleak Flats Cave (where Erthor is) and Bloodcrust Cavern. They both have giant yellow stars that say "WTF MISSING MESH" in various places. Some items don't show up (they only show as "" when you click on them) while, at least in Bleak Flats, some were items I'd expect to show up, like potatoes and carrots.

I believe I've traced the problem to the Better Dungeons mod, as I do not get these errors after disabling that mod. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and also completely deleting and redownloading it to no avail. I am using the ESP version through NMM.

Help?

If you're installing the mod through NMM it sounds like it's not installing it properly. Have you tried installing Better Dungeons manually?

No, I've been kind of afraid that it'll install and then will be the same but I won't be able to get it out.

Plus, I'm not sure which version to install manually. Should I still use the ESP version, or use one of the other versions?

Sorry, despite being competent enough to install and manage mods, I admit I suck at all the technical stuff.

There is no such thing as an "ESP version" to be found on the mod page, only a "BSA version", a "loose files" version and an ESP-only upload "requiring" one of the others for resources.

Using only the ESP but no BSA or loose files will cause exactly what you described, you will be missing the resources you didn't install. So if that's what you did, get one of the others also and it should go away.

Using the BSA version but for some reason the game not loading the BSA can cause the same as well, "loose files" though should be pretty safe provided proper Archive Invalidation is in place when needed.

As for installing manually or via NMM, if you choose the BSA version, the way I understand, there should only be an ESP, a BSA and a readme in the package, nothing which inherently requires a manager for install/uninstall or makes using one to install useful in any way. The loose files version though will surely be advisable to install via a manager, so it keeps track of 'which' loose files belong to the mod and can safely uninstall them later on, if needed.
