Utilizing Free Download Manager with Nexus mods

I hope this one it isn't a forbidden topic. If it is erase it as you please.

I have often difficulties to download some large nexus mods (NMC's texture pack in this case) for my games (Fallout New Vegas in this case), because after the download I discover them with broken files, so they cannot be installed via Nexus Mod Manager.

It was suggested that the use of Free Download Manager could be useful to download the mod without errors, but I'm not able to use it. It should pop up a window when I click on "download manually" on the mod page, but if I do nothing happens. The strange fact is that the download window of Free Download Manager appears for every other kind of download, but it doesn't appear if I try a download on the nexus site.

I've tried even with Firefox, but nothing happens even with it.

Is there maybe a particular option I have to enable in the configuration of Free Download Manager? Does anyone know something about?
