WH40K using XCom engine

The XCom engine would be great to use in a Warhammer 40K game.

Close to the original table top experience, turn-based, equip weapons/armor, squad-based action

 

However, launching mission on Earth out from Central would be a bit weird....

Good idea, and really a texture upgrade could do a great job. So, idea 1) (I have no idea if this is even possible)

 

1) Space Marines,

 

  • The soldiers in the game can be replaced by Space Marine initiates, who can later be promoted to a veteran units.
  • The classes could be, 1) Rookie - Just a standard scout

2) Sniper/Assault- Scouts(They carry snipers, shotguns and bolters and kinda are simillar)

3) Support - Tactical Marine (They carry bolters, frags, smoke, etc.... they make excellent support troops)

4) Heavy - Devastator Marines (Seriously, they are just that, - Carry big guns, inaccurate, best for suppression, carry rockets too)

 

(5) Psionic Soldiers - Librarians ( Tadah...)

(6) MEC Troops - Dreadhaughts (Woillah)

(7) Gene mods - Unavialable due to heretical implications(Gene seed Tampering -Heresy yeah I know)

  • Weapons Could be, 1) Normal Rifles- Bolt Rifles

2)Laser guns - Las weaponry

3) Plasma guns- Plasma Weaponry

  • Armor, 1) Standard Armor- Scout Armor

2) Carapase Armor- Power Armor

3) Titan Armor - Terminator Armor

4) Psionic Armor - Librarian armor

5) Archangel Armor - Assault Armor(The one with Jetpacks)

6) Ghost Armor - The Scout's Camoflauge armor

I'd love to work on a 40K mod for XCOM. I'm a bit limited in terms of editing knowledge, but seeing what the guys working on Long War have achieved, it's looking optimistic :)

 

Mostly, I would focus on the fluff for it, and getting the soldier audio working. If there is anyone else who is interested in working on a 40K mod, let me know, we could get a group together :D
