Companions Broken with MMM, unknown reason.

Hey Guys,

I'm experiencing a fairly frustrating issue at the moment.

About half the time combat ends, my companions will just stand/crouch in one location and stop following.

The only way to resolve this is by hitting a loading screen, (door, wait, fast-travel, etc) or using the companion teleporter items.

-------

I am running the following-

Fallout 1.7

MMM (Latest version)(Pretty much everything turned on, except ghoul rampage and corpse flies)

Kelsey companion.

Jessie companion.

--------

I was experiencing the issue, then fully updated fallout 3 and all installed mods (following correct update procedure) but the issue persists. I am also using MMM's suggested load order.

I have been unable to find any other reference to this issue.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Get FO3Edit by ElminsterAU and Miax's great guide on using this utility to find and resolve mod conflicts.

As an immediate first step, try moving NPC-specific mods before any MMM .esp files and see if that resolves things. If not, get to be good friends with FO3Edit :) .

Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the response. :)

I have installed FO3Edit and I'm having a bit of trouble detecting any conflicts that could be causing the issue.

Both Companions Greet and Farewell sound resources have a conflict, but I can't see how this could be causing the issue.

Anyways, I'm going to start reading the guide and give this a good bit of troubleshooting, heh.

Ah, feel like a real tool saying this now, but it looks like MMM isn't even at fault.

I'm experiencing the same issue after disabling everything but the DLC esms and two custom companions (Jessi & Kelsey, both up to date).

I've disabled everything and 'cleaned' the save file but the issue persists as soon as I load them up again.

Looks like either the DLC or whatever previous patch version I was using broke them. They don't work with the latest patch either as I updated during the troubleshooting process.

Well, I'm at a loss. :-S

Don't suppose there are any known issues with custom companions getting 'stuck' after combat?

It doesn't seem to happen with the vanilla companions.
