body invisible with new mesh

hello, i have just started my first attempt at 3d modeling for oblivion, i figured i would try something i have seen someone else do to get some practice, so i tried taking a model that was already made and removing parts from it, and changing some scale and position in 3ds max, i am now at the point of trying to get it in game, my problem is once the armour is equiped, my characters upper body becomes invisible along with the mesh for the armour, any help would be appreciated and if you need any more info, please tell me what you need.

im pretty sure the texture is in the right place, from what i have read so far, im thinking it has something to do with bones and skins, i will post a picture of nifskope maybe that will help some. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/Daragaaz/render.jpg

ok i found that none of the armour meshes in the model had any skin partitions, so i tried copying the skin instances from the original unedited armour to replace it from those peices, now i can see them but they look very messed up, out of place and warped.
