WTF with the save system?

WTF with the save system? when i push save it makes new file & auto save makes new file, dam, with 2h game play & i have 100+ saves if i ton't delete, u know its annoying when u half to delete saves urself all the time, specially when u half to move ur mouse cursor to OK to delete when it asks are u sure, in some games deletion is less annoying, like when it asks u are u sure u just bush Enter, if i get 1000+ saves games usually start to lag, even older games, in my older PC i had that issue & after that i started to overwrite saves instead of making new saves (& i have max 10 save files, including Auto save & quic save), but in this game u cant overwrite save, unless its quick save, saving in W1 was better, only down side, in there quick save did new files & so did auto save, so i had to open menu to overwrite save & that's also less annoying, i like to change the way save works in W2, that all saves are overwritten no matter how u save, well if u save from menu u have 1 choices, make new or overwrite & other saves will only over write, i want to change save system even if its a mod, but it would be better if its a fix or patch fix, also can be ini fix, i mean a instruction what to write in ini file to make saves overwrite

 

i ton't have Steam Version

I created a shortcut to the to where the saves are located (probably mydocuments/the witcher 2/saves - I have Steam so I don't know). It makes it easier to delete saves this way than by doing it in game.
