Talon Company Quest - inspiration needed

well I was thinking bout doing a Talon Company Quest, that allows you to pay them off and give you the name of the Person who put the hit out on you.

 

this mod is supposed to be mainly directed towards higher level players, who got so many caps they have no clue where to put em and done pretty much everything there is to do in the wasteland.

 

what I've done so far:

 

I put a Talon Company HQ in Georgetown West (the building right behind the subwaystation)

I placed a leader inside the building and gave him a standard dialogue, resulting with the choice to either pay 5000 caps and get them to stop attacking and the name of the person or leave.

 

and this is pretty much the point where i ran outta ideas, I can't even come up with a good name & location for the Person responsible, obviously this is gonna be a pretty straightforward quest, hunt down the Person who wants to see you dead, maybe even involve Reilly's Rangers (as the dude who pays them to do the mapping), fight your way to him and kill him for some good karma and revenge.

well, here are a few updates on how its going along:

 

- added about 10 NPC's, who serve no purpose other than to fill the place with mercs

 

- added some clutter (lot more needed, so if someone wants to help here, that would be highly appreciated (I suck at cluttering, always looks kind unnatural)

 

- made a Sign for the place

so if someone has ideas and/or wants to help out with stuff its highly appreciated (someone to navmesh would be awesome, for some reason geck always crashes for me when I'm saving, so i spend 30 min navmeshing & fixing and loose it all on saving)

FWIW, one of the Talon mercs already tells you "This is what happens to people who disappoint Mr. Tenpenny." The contract appears to me to be Burke's work. I wouldn't mind just attacking and clearing out Talon HQ. Riley could give directions after the Rangers quest. Maybe you could add an underground secret entrance, or a weak spot in a wall to blow a hole. Going in the front door should probably be fatal. Lots of caps might be a good reward, and/or info allowing you to find Talon team outposts and sneak up on them for a change.

There is another Talon post a few items down that suggests that the Talon commander is at Ft. Bannister. I don't remember this, but I probably wasn't paying attention. You could make your place the DC HQ and have communications from Ft. Bannister laying around so the player knows where to look for the commander.

I like that, but what's the bit about the name- the person whos sending people to attack you, or something about your name? But, maybie you could get a merc to have dialougue before you enter the building, bribing him, otherwise the building already knows your there, and goes on lockdown. This could spawn more mercs. Also, If you have the perk that allys you with the regulators, maybie you can discover the location, and send some of them in with you as help. Alos, you could add prisoners, and some mercs trying to force information out of them. This, and some bussiness men doing bussiness stuff for ambience, maybie have em' cowering in the corner if the building goes on lockdown. Well, that's all I have for now, I'll add more later.

actually, the leader i used in the that mod is a duplcated/modifed version of jacobs, cause well I simply assumed most people in higher levels cleaned out Ft. Banister already and jacobs is one of the first to die (cause they gots some nice loot in there).

 

I was thinking bout something like this:

 

add a simple counter for how many talons you killed and once you killed like 15 (so 5 encounters or so) you get a Note from them, offering you to pay em off, cause its not worth it for them anymore, and set the NPC's inside the HQ to turn hostile if you walk in without the note.

 

and i was thinking bout tenpenny, but there's a good chance (actually its around 75%, that Tenpenny is already dead)

(he dies in 2 cases of the tenpenny tower quest and in 1 case of the "you gotta shoot em in the head" quest)

 

that would make the whole quest kinda useless if you already killed him and well tenpenny is a pretty easy enemy, he doesn't survive 2-3 hits.

 

I like the one about the secret entry to the HQ, given that i picked the building directly next to a subway station, it wouldn't be all that unlikely that there's a way from the subway station into the HQ. (which also would give all the back parts of that place a purpose, cause right now thats kinda all pretty empty

I think this mod could be very well used in conjuction of this mod: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showto...10&start=10 Check it out- It involves godfather-like extortion, and drugs among other things. I figured, might as well give the talon a ACCUAL well-functioning and well-orgaized base.That, and your enimies using these guys as mercs to take you down, could be quite interesting. Also, that would allow you to pay for something- the mercs to quit attacking! Then they are neutral. After more pay, (MUCH more) you can even use them as guards.
