XCom at its fines
Unforgiving and rewarding as hell.
I play this, on impossible ironman.
17 March.....
We are at the first UFO landing....
All of my Interceptors could not shoot the bugger down,
So it landed.
Fair enough, I thought.
Cause, you get better loot right?
Well dont be to happy to soon my friend...
Cause what landed, wasnt a small scout...or even the middle one

noo noo....

a harvester landed, in the first month of the game. "Yikes!!!" I thought as soon as I noticed what landed in front of my doorsteps o.0
Especially, cause my team consists of 5 Rookies and 1 noob Sniper.

Now I know why I could shoot it down..
jeah I maybe make this..."maybe" I have.... luck?
I have a Sniper, 5 Aussaultrifles a few AP Grenades and a couple Flashbangs, also I brought with me a Medikit, cause you never know...
After my first movement, I hear "what", in the background?
No, that cant be right, cause its the first landing right? I so hoped.....
Oh no my friend, hope is lost in these unforgiving days, when hell drops from the skies.
Yes, you heard right, Chrysalids!
ON the first landing Chrysalids!!!
I am doomed I thought ---- dooooomeed!!!!!!
But no, I will not give up - and run home to mama.
So I fight!
I have one Sniper right? He is a good lad, got a steady aim..
And some flashbangs could slow them down?...
Well what happened,
I activated them + 4 Floaters as support.
Jeah, great give it to me all at once..
So what I do?
I sacrifice the poor girl, who was doomed anyway through throwing a Flashnade
Slow them down....bye me time girl
Sell your poor soul, as expensive as possible.
She did hit all chrysalids, cause they ganged up on her...
well so far so good...
of course she died instant. Dont look friend, dont look :(
well, I did manage to kill a few of those ugly "things" before they reached my line of defence.
The zombie came closer and closer, and the Floaters joined the party.
One of them Instant killed, another one of my rookie girls... :sad:
then to make thing worse, the Zombie now reached the last of my rookie girls.
of course the only one that was shaking in panic..... OMG, can I save her? I asked my self.
I must, I cant let all women die like this!
Those horrible Alien monsters try to break my will through killing all women first ^^
The poor Girl will get shred to pieces, If I cant kill that "Thing" what was once, one of my own...
If it wasnt shocking enough already, now they have to shot their dead friend..
All bullets of my remaining weapons fly towards and also hit the thing... but....but
It did not fall....1 Hp was left ^^
So now there was nothing I could do, then watch how it smacks away the life of my last Girl in the party...
She screams loud out, as her last breath passes through her lungs..
dead....dead is she dead?
No...is there is still life left in her...?
She is lying on the floor, covered in blood. But her heart is still pumping.
The remaining 3 men, driven by hatred, and the iron will to save there last female companion,
kill that slobbering in blood socked "thing" and to 2 Floaters who where still lurking around..
Not only that, one of them was lucky enough to reach the girl in time, so she can get stabilized...
Yes she is saved, we made it...or .....is she???
great! Wow what now? I was thinking..
We could flee^^ Be safe, save the remaining 3 survivors...But the Girl..she would be dead... we are not able to take her broken body with us, while Aliens are still lurking around.
A decision has to be made!
Will we be heroes,
And storm the unknown Alien ship?
with 2 Rockies and 1 Sniper.
We got 1 AP + 1 Flashbang left
well....well....yes, yes We will NOT give up - we will fight!
So we decide to go inside of the big unknown ship...
There at the entrance, we see another 3 Drones guarding.
They go down easily, got lucky with my aim.
Then what I hear? Floaters...more Floaters...at the left flank of the ship..
We need to take them down before we go in ^^
So we try to lure them in reach of my Sniper, yes the first one goes down...
we back of, shoot back of, shoot.
One by one, all 4 fall into the dust...
Jeah, we will now not let us get stopped by the likes of u.
Scream as you fall, scream you alien monsters!
So now I know, "Outsiders" guard the bridge of the ship...
Ok one or two I guess? ....ok ok... we have 1 AP nade... the sniper must hit, and we can make this, right?
We came so far, are so close to victory, cant give up now... ^^!
So we build up in front of the door to the bridge, and storm the last room. So i thought...
One very brave Soldier, with the last AP-nade, goes in...and ....and...??
No NOO cant be, "3" not 1, not 2, "3" Outsiders BAMM in my face AHHHHH -
Ok now we are all doomed, he made his movement, now can he only dash or throw his grenade...
what to do, what to do???
Flee...FLEEE the only option is getting out of here...!!
cause...cause

Outside...^^ you have to fight the Outsiders...outside !!

I know, they are very aggressive. maybe I can outsmart the AI ? ...Maybe...they will follow me..? to a fighting place where my Sniper counts ;)
So I run...run runn runnnn!!!
All 3 do get out of there, and I can hear them following me...I dont dare to look back... :ohmy:
I position my Sniper....put the 2 Guys on the flanks.. :ninja:
and wait...wait wait wait... :ermm:
we can hear them...but cant see them
What now? they will be in overwatch...that is a sure kill - if I now move...
hmm...decisions....decisions...

I move...
First a little bit, step by step. :ninja:
Then I end the round and I get shoot, even though I cant see anybody...
So now Outsiders are also invisible o.0 ???
What now flee again? go forward... I need to get a visual at one of them, so my sniper gets a shot...
Of course my guy moves, and he dies instant -.-
BUT - I wont give up, NO !!! I will get you 3 nasty Robotic cold heartless Alien murderer !!!
Well ...well through cleaver movement... good sniping...and a lot of luck, one by one -
all 3 fell...!
they did push me back, to the last inch...the last tree, I had to use as cover..
I won the Map..I cant believe it.. XCOM at its finest..
Love the mod :wink: and thank you for it...
