Retribution
Well, I just got Fallout 3 GOTY edition for PC. I'm currently installing it on my computer. I started the installation about 10 or 15 minutes ago and it's only 1/3 done. Is it supposed to be this slow? I have a really fast computer, so that isn't the problem. Oblivion never took this long to install.
csb
First, I hope you aren't installing to the default directory. :whistling: Someting like C:\Games\Fallout3 prevents some problems. Immediately after the install, install the 1.7 patch. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 Caps. Then install the DLCs. Get Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) by Timeslip and FO3Edit by ElminsterAU. And Miax's great guide on using that utility find mod conflicts and resolve them ... you can get the Web-enized version. Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and get and install the K-Lite codecs (to disable fddshow, which causes problems for many). Check around this forum, you'll find scads of other useful insights. Oh, and enjoy Fallout3 :)
Tabris172015
I just installed to a different directory and went on my way with my GOTY edition. I haven't had any major issues and any I have had didn't impact the game except for one issue.Just install the DLC from disc 2, click 'data files' when the launch window pops up and then click all the boxes to enable the DLC. That way at least you have the level 30 cap raise.
