larrytmc
I have always been thinking about making some body mesh with a slightly different dimension (I don't mean boobs here).Like the body of the Teletubbies (I know it sounds ridiculous, but I was trying to make a costume for the guards), which has a generally fat body and short limbs.I also wants to make female fingers longer, legs longer, arms shorter... When I made my last armor (never release here), I accidentally moved the clavicles bones lower in Blender and notice that the bones and their associated mesh were pushed back to where it was supposed to be, which created a huge hump on the shoulder. So I know moving bones to create a body with a different ratio is not possible. Now the question is, if I have to make body that resemble little girls, shorter limbs and longer torso, how far do I have to go? Just weight-paint it accordingly? or I have to redo the skeleton.nif, all the kf. file and all that?
Vagrant0
The proportions are all tied to the skeleton and the animation files. To use any other proportions, you would need to create a new skeleton and remake every animation for that skeleton. Unfortunately, the game does not handle NPCs with different skeletons very well, and not all of the animations can easily be linked up to work with a specific NPC or group of NPCs. As far as NPCs go, you are pretty much limited to the height and weight settings within a race for changing proportions for reasons of practicality. You also have to remember that NPCs all share the same body meshes, so even if you were willing to devote all that extra time into making something like this work, you would have that limitation. There is still quite alot that you can do on this end, but you really have to be creative. Creatures are a slightly different matter, but come with other limitations. So I just have to redo everything, from skeleton.nif to all kfs? That sounds...eh...fun For me, oblivion is more like a 3D factory in which i can entertain myself... hahahSo even if it is going to screw up the NPCs, who cares!
