Gun firing REALLY REALLY SLOW in near-perfect condition!

Ever since I have traveled to point lookout, I have had to seriously pump up the settings on my Radeon X1600, and I'm still maxing out at 20 FPS.

 

Whenever I'm attacked by the swamp folk/Smugglers my framerate goes to crap, and my MK 23 modded pistol will fire so slow, I can maybe get off 1 clip in a minute. The same problem is happening to my combat shotgun, which I got out of operation anchorage. This makes PL unplayable and pretty f***ed up IMO. I payed for GOTY and I want to use EVERY dlc. It is also not limited to PL, it occurs quite a bit in the Capital WL.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

 

Also I'm using FOSE, which I think might be causing it, I'll try launching FO3 without it later today :)

I think the lag is causing the weapons to fire slowly... especially in Point lookout in the swamp with steam, fog and dim, that is using much of the graphic card memory.

 

u could try to kill the "Pistol Lag" by simply open up the ceck with the mod and set the fireing rate Higher.... ofcourse you`l still have the lag but you can shoot... or set it as automatic..

 

I cant come with any other help, unless if you have a projector and run the game on the wall instead of a screen. then the game wont lag at all.

 

Have you Lowered the games graphics?
