Cap Factory

This is inspired by my thread here, http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=149232&hl=

which is about all the caps in the wasteland and where they come from, though more specifically these posts in it which I think would make the basis for a great quest mod:

Now THIS all has some great Mod potential!

It only makes sense, after all, that the Nuka cola factory must surely have a division someplace for making the caps themselves. There could be a fortune just lying around in some old warehouse near or under the plant, connected to the factory via a conveyor belt or something to the bottlecapping area. Either with or without all the sinister stuff, a mod for pulling off a heist 200 years in the making would be really cool.

Hmm... maybe a flooded section crawling with Nukalurks? Maybe a ruined main power connection, but one which can be repaired with a good repair skill and a fission battery?

Maybe the heavy machinery sucks the juice out of a battery pretty quickly, but running the conveyor belt for one battery's worth of charge can get you hundreds of caps? Add another battery, get more caps. Of course, this sort of thing tends to attract a lot of attention...

3rdTryGuy, I'd really enjoy a mod like that. Especially if it entailed you fighting off hoards of Raiders and Slavers who want to stamp caps for themselves.

Let's say you could make it sort of a player home, (the factory) and you had to hire workers to help you keep up production. You could enter into trade agreements with settlements and exchange caps for drinking water (for the health and well being of your new employees) if you have Broken Steel. Maybe have a settlement grow up around the factory as you hire new workers.

Another cool feature would be that, if you left the factory under management of a trusted underling, they could message you on your Pip-Boy via radio transmission if they come under attack and you would need to quickly return to protect your interests. If you don't make it back in time you would find your factory either occupied by the raiding forces and all your employees slaughtered, or maybe if it happens enough times, you'd find it burnt to the ground and the cap stamping machinery stolen. Then you'd quest to get it back.

Fighting off bands of nere-do-wells every couple of weeks would make for a good repeatable quest, especially if the attacks increase in scale every time.

The possibilities are endless!!!

This is obviously a large task and I don't honestly expect anybody to commit themselves to it, but I thought maybe it would inspire somebody and it's worth the off-chance that someone will take the idea and run with it.
