athu
Ive been reading web pages all effin day, and can't get a straight answer. Install instructions says copy and paste the mesh or textures into the data folder, and overwrite when prompted, but this is impossible because there is no Texture or Mesh Folders. There is only FALLOUT-textures ( Bethesda file archive ) FALLOUT-mesh (Bethesda file archive ) SOUND and so on , The above way just places the folders into the data folder.I haven't started a new game yet. GOTY i just got. Can someone Attach a Picture of their DATA FOLDER , XP sp3 , along with their no half guessexplanation. Friggin Please  I'm not the only one. :wallbash: :verymad: :wallbash: :verymad: Also sorry i got FOMM, FOSE, GECK,Archive Invalidation Invalidated all up and running EDIT BY ME ;These next lines are to maximize Google hit of topic :Installing fallout 3 texture or mesh 1st time. How to install texture and mesh fallout 3.Answer, new texture and mesh and sound folders etc must be be created in addition to original fallout 3 BFA folders if modding for the 1st time.Is not like oblivion data folders. mooncarver
well, if you already activated the archive invalidation tool, then just create those folders in your data folder and you're good to go.
csb
1. Open the TYPE3_BODY_V3dot5-4280.7z archive, you will see several folders:- TYPE3 BASE CALI body- TYPE3 BASE HD body- TYPE3 BERRY body- TYPE3 BERRY HD body- TYPE3 SLIM body Open ONE of those folders (see the difference in the screenshots on the Dimon's TYPE 3 page). For example, in TYPE 3 BASE body you will see a folder called meshes. Extract this into your Fallout3/Data folder. Then you will need TYPE3_V2_TEXTURE_pack, open that archive. You will see the folders:Options&CustomizationTYPE3 V2 TEXTURESand the readme file for Type3 textures. Expand TYPE3 V2 TEXTURES and extract the textures folder into Fallout3/Data. That's it, you are done, as long as FOMM is in archive invalidation mode or you used ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated. As for the other folders in both archives, they contain options to customize the look of your Type 3 install. Hope this helps :)
fiznerpin
Yeah, been there, done that. 18 different ways from sunday. Got the face options to work, but the body textures were a garbled mess - with black panties on. Did it EXACTLY like the read me's said to. Fomm up, all other mods working great, finally gave up - not worth the blood pressure ( I'm OLD). Went back to Nouack's (sp) body replacer - works good (really wanted to install some mods that require this mod first to work - dammit.) :verymad:
csb
If you are indeed installing to the proper directories, it shouldn't present those problems, since it is merely a body mesh/texture replacer. You could open Fallout3.ini to see if bInvalidation... etc. is, in fact set, to 1. Beyond that, I can't imagine why you're encountering those issues. fiznerpin
Seriously! Me neither... straight up - copy meshes folder directly to FO3 data folder, yes to all overwrites. same with textures folder. How difficult can it be, right? Same shitty looking textures, tried 3 different replacers, same thing. Only one that works for me is Naouak's. :wallbash: Wish I could figure out the freakin' common denominator... EDIT: All my weapons mods work great! Same with sound mods - just the replacers givin' me an aneurism
athu
well, if you already activated the archive invalidation tool, then just create those folders in your data folder and you're good to go. Thank for that something "CREATE" that no one includes in their install instructions :thanks:
reaperstyle
Hey man, you have just missunderstood the meaning of the text.Simply, when you download the file you get a folder called ''Data'' or similar so whatever is in that folder goes to the Data folder in your Fallout 3 directory, is not else is said, but most of the times all you need to do is to mark everything thats in the data folder you just downloaded and copy it to the data folder in you fallout 3 directory. Hope this helps :)
