"I have a cowardly way of gathering goodies; I accompany the Imperial guard on their patrols, and when I know there are bandits ahead I go on and get them to come after me, then let the Watch take care of them"

You should get a companion mod (or two), then you wouldn't have to follow the guards. Some come with romance quests for added interest. Some are animals (there's a mountain lion, for example).

Bioshock is all interiors (though beautifully designed), so if you like being outside it might not be your kind of thing. It is a unique experience game-wise though.

ahh.... I would love a companion animal. I have my horse of course, but a lion or a dog.... yes, I would like that. Thought I would go for Dogmeat in F3, but then learned he could get killed.

Thanks Roquefort, I will follow that up on Oblivion.

I have bought Bioshock now ( gulp, two games in one week. Had to 'fess up to hubs about spending our munney so freely) and from the reviews and screenshots it looks good - if I am allowed to draw breath long enough to look around and enjoy it before the next attack, that is.

Cheers m'dears :)

Well it's true that Bioshock has the creep factor in spades, but at least there are cheats available if you do want to explore (I'll not mention any for spoiler reasons).

I have to say that I do like to explore these virtual worlds unmolested sometimes (which is why STALKER is such a p*ss-off) and Bioshock's world is a lovely place to explore. I appreciate the work put in by modelers & designers, and you can't really get a good look at stuff if you're worrying about attacks all the time. It's nice to be just a tourist occasionally.

Watch out for the pram lady! ;)

@roquefort: you realize that you could use a trainer for stalker right ?

there's plenty of them out there, offering pretty much everything (godmode, unlimited ammo, max. stealth, max. cash, no carry limit, unlim. sprint etc.)

as long as there is games without cheats there wil be trainers that give you cheats :D

I hear what y'all say, but having bought it now I must give it a go. Interesting about cheats. I don't usually bother with those as I assume they are all about gaining lives loot and power before you have worked for them - but one that would let me poke around at a slower pace would be good perhaps.

Timeshift.. I have that somewhere, haven't bothered much with it yet, did not realise it was creepy. It can stay on the backshelf for a while then :)

Hi -- Yeah I've tried a couple and just ended with a crashed game (right after leaving the trader's place); don't know why

I have the USA version even though I bought it in the UK, and I assumed that most of the trainers are for that version. Those were the trainer versions I tried anyhow.

It's been a while since I tried though, so I might give it another go sometime.

The damn game takes so long to re-install after one of these abortions that I just gave up. Also I got into Obliv & Fallout (which has some of the feel of STALKER), and there's only so many gaming (and now modding) hours in the day

There aren't `explore' cheats as such in games, but there is usually a God mode that makes you invulnerable, and sometimes a `no attack' mode that makes enemies leave you alone. If I recall correctly, in Bioshock there's one that kills all enemies on the level you're in with one command, so that's useful for exploring.

Of course cheating can spoil the game, that's a given.

well obviously cheating spoils the gameplay and one should never cheat before not completing a game at least once without cheats.

btw. Fallout3 has a kill all enemys console code as well (which is quite helpful when you test mods, its getting really annoying having to kill the same enemys over and over again, just to check if the change you made works) ;)
