If you play as a Breton then the best armor is the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide - found in Tel Fyr. It gives a constant 60% magic resistance which when added to the 50% innate magic resistance of the Bretons gives you complete resistance to magic. Thus you can don the bBoots of Blinding speed and are immune to the Greater Bonewalker's strength drain, or any other attribute drain. More importantly you can play the Corprus trick and build up your streng th and endurance to whatever level you desire. I generally take the birthsign which gives you the high magic and 50% spell absorbtion with the Wombburn downside. This type of character with enhanced magic and STR,END stats is pretty formidable.

(I once built a character like this with high Hand to Hand and killed both Vivec and Amalexia with only my little fists - I was a female Breton.)
