OBMM installation issue

So I installed OBMM, i thought without a hitch.

when I went to launch it, I get an error saying it needs to be installed to Oblivions base directory and that if I have moved or renamed "oblivion_default.ini", I need to replace it.

well...

1. it did install to the base directory

2. there is no such thing as "oblivion_default.ini" on my machine...now "Oblivion.ini" resides in the detached "My Games" folder in the My Doc section.

I'm running XP SP3.

This can't be unusual, but I haven't found an answer yet.

thanks.

Alright...I believe I found a solution...if someone sees an issue, please comment.

I believe my "oblivion_default.ini" got axed when I first got the game many weeks ago...I was attempting to deal with the FOV issue, and I believe the guide I found had you delete the default ini so it couldn't reset an altered value.

Anyway...I've since overcome this problem...and since from what I read, the Oblivion_default.ini is copied to make the oblivion.ini...and I have not altered oblivion.ini permanently...I just copied it back to the oblivion base folder, renamed it "oblivion_default.ini"...installed OBMM...and BAM! Success.

Hopefully that's all it takes.

oblivion_default. should be in main oblivion folder where oblivion exe is.

If you have done fresh install...try starting new game

Maybe it's created when you launch game for first time

No, I think it's added when you install the game.
