I'm not really sure what is going on but lately I've been experiencing mod troubles.

The mesh's/textures of the mods I have on have been disappearing in my game. It will show a blue screen on my pipboy and I'll usually see the ! on a mod that is laying around.

These mods have worked before but something screwed up with this and now I'm not sure what to do. If I go to load a game, all of my games are gone and it will say NULL on the saves I had.

The only thing for me to do about that part is to exit the game and open it back up.

I've had this problem before but I would rearrange some mods in FOMM and that seemed to fix it before. Now it doesn't seem to be working. I even tried out FO3 Edit and that doesn't seem to be helping.

So could someone help me figure out what to do?

Thanks

You've definitely got a conflict somewhere if previously working meshes/textures are now not working.

There are two invaluable must-have utilities: Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) by Timeslip and FO3Edit by ElminsterAU. You'll also want Miax's great FO3Edit Guide - Webenized to show you how to find and resolve mod conflicts.

Start working backwards on your recently installed mods, deselecting them in FOMM, see if you can pinpoint a culprit that way. If not, then it's time to play FOMM load order shuffle and see if that fixes things, checking for conflicts between load ordering in FOMM with detection in FO3Edit.

In FOMM, right-click your mod list and select "Export load order" and then open the file in a text editor and copy/paste into forum text box.

Trust me, unless you've got something blatantly wrong with your load order, just a casual look won't do much. Get ElminsterAU's FO3Edit and Miax's FO3Edit Guide - Web-enized.

Learn how to set the conflict detection filter in FO3Edit in the guide, then see which conflicts can be solved by shuffling your load order in Fallout Mod Manager. Rinse, lather, repeat until you're sure that the load order has gotten rid of as many conflicts as possible.

Then read up on creating a patch plug-in/merge patch.

Once that is done, read up on how to run FO3Edit in Master Update mode.

Eh I believe I found the problem... It was one of my latest mod downloads that was causing all of this...

DIM Type 3 conversions.

Thats the mod that was causing all of my textures/mesh's to act up.

I've tested this out by unchecking about 2 mods and my game worked fine, so I rechecked the 2 and it was acting up again. So I unchecked this mod and so far no problems now.

Atleast I found the problem now and my game seems to be working now...

Make sure in Timeslip's Fallout Mod Manager you have enabled archive invalidation (the "Toggle invalidation") button. Otherwise, Fallout3 will use its default archive invalidation and not find the Type3 textures/meshes.

You have alot of weapon mods, I suggest you avoid these, mostly as they can sometimes conflict, especially if found in the same cells.

Second, I would like to note you are running 2 esp's which require an esm which you are not running, not sure why your not but you should be having CTD problems with this, these are the seducing mods you have.

Other than those nothing screams out to me; if your still experiencing problems I would suggest you wipe your data files and not use so much stuff. If you want really awesome weapons and such, do what I did, learn the GECK, download models and textures (but not the esp's) and use them to make your own weapons and add them to the game.

Ohh I also suggest you un check the mods you are not using, it will lower your loading times and make the game run smoother; other than those suggestions, I can't help you without going through your data files.

Thanks for your input...

I just like to have more choices for weapons in my game. I can easily get board using the same weapon too long, so I am changing weapons around often.

As for my weapon mods, I really don't have problems with them.

The only main thing I do experience with my game is that it does hang up on me occasionaly and I do get the CTD once in awhile.

As for learning the GECK, I've been teaching myself slowly. I have some personal tweaks mods in my load order. I'm just not real comfortable messing with the GECK too much cause I don't want to mess up my game.

Also I do usually try to keep the mods that I don't use unchecked. I like using mods cause it helps spice the game up for me. Thats why I have allot of mods.
