render corruption in geck after switching perspective

Hey all!

I'm having a bit of a problem with the GECK that I cannot track down.

Everything is fine, initially. If I switch the render window to orthographic mode, it functions fine. But, if I switch back to perspective mode, I get some sort of fog corruption with a pivot point around the center of the render window. As I rotate around, the "angle" and z-depth of the fog seems to change around randomly. See the screenshot to see what I mean.

If I delete the GECKPrefs.ini the issue goes away, until I try to switch perspective modes again.

Windows 7 Ultimate x86_64, nVidia 9800 with drivers 191.07. I've tried disabling desktop composition for GECK, but no change regarding the issue.

If it matters, I've done the ini edit and file renaming to enable 3.0 Pixel Shaders.

I'm using fose_loader.exe to launch the editor (fose v1.1 b9)

Any ideas?

Oops, it looks like your links are broken - the ellipses have been included in their urls.

I've noticed this problem as well, but as far as I know the only way to rectify it is to restart the GECK.

Oops! Fixed the links.

Hmm, it seems that, for me, restarting the GECK doesn't fix it all the time (more often the issue persists). In any case, I've not had a single time where I toggled modes that it didn't cause the issue to recur.

I recall a thread by a prolific modder from some months ago that mentioned a problem with orthographic view. It might surface with a search. I don't recall a resolution though, apart from "don't do that". If it is affecting your .esp because it was saved after using ortho, can you access a backup .esp made before that point?
