Necromancist
I want to add a weapon using the "Handcannon" meshes and textures made by Hengebobs (http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9858). Problem is, I've never used the GECK before. I use FWE, so I'm wondering if I should use the .esm for FWE or Fallout3.esm? Also, can someone give/show me a simple on how to add a custom weapon, complete with adding meshes, textures and sound, then placing it in the game? I haven't understood the tutorials I've found so far :<
ecksile
The meshes and textures should already be together in the nifs he released for a modders resource. You just need to put them in your fallout3 data folder in the proper places. Then open the geck. No matter what you need to load fallout3.esm then select any other .esm's I'm not too good with working with .esm's but if i remember you have to use fo3edit to add or edit esm's? (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Id suggest you make it as a .esp for your first time, Just to get the hang of the process. To do this you will have to open the GECK. Load fallout3.esm and then once loaded make your gun. and just add the mesh to the gun under the art and sound tab. Here's the main window for weapon editing in the GECK. It explains what everything is and does. Refer to this when building. http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Weapons Cant really show you how to add weapons as its a lot of stuff you'll have to refer to the already written tutorials for that, but don't be discouraged. Instead try for yourself and then if you get stuck or have any questions ask those questions specifically and detailed here and we will try to help you from there.
