Trapped in Rivet city

This problem seems to have first started when I added the Destruction v6.1 mod - although it also could have been from the mod sorter, since I installed both of them at the same time, haha.

 

Anyway, when I first tried to open the game after installing the mod, it would crash right on the loading screen. So, I removed the mod and put everything back in the order it was previously and tried again, and although it didn't crash immediately, it seems like I am now trapped in Rivet city - or whatever area I'm in in the save I load. I can go to different areas of the city but when I try to go outside, it crashes every time. I don't know what's wrong, if I missed reverting anything that had been changed, or what, but it's getting very frustrating... any tips?

 

Looking around a bit with google seems to suggest that if I disable mods that affect respawning, go to a new area, save, and then activate the mods again, it should help - I'm using quite a few and I'm not sure which ones would do this, though.

 

...And someone else advised me to kill myself XD apparently the auto-load after death fixes things, I guess it's worth a try anyway. XD

 

Anyway, I can post my load order if it'd be helpful, thanks for any tips =]

Well the first step would be to see if you have the same trouble leaving other building interiors. From your save "stuck" in Rivet City, open the console with the "~" key and type coc megatoncommonhouse

 

You should appear in said house in Megaton, and then proceed to walk outside. If you make it to Megaton proper, it's a problem I've narrowed down to saving and quiting inside Rivet City. If you do stuff in Rivet City having loaded in any other place in the Wasteland, you can easily move in and out of any of the entrances to Rivet City, but for some reason should you load up in Rivet City, it messes up loading the Wasteland something-or-others to let you travel. So just try not to quit inside Rivet City.
