If someone made this mod, it would really compliment the sharing and caring companions mod, not to mention all the weapons that are out there like the m4 and the SAW. But honestly, I personally will never even consider downloading any sort of weapon mod that includes real world guns. I don't care what era they are from, I don't want to see replicas of real weapons in my game. If you want to, that is fine by me, and I usually wouldn't say anything about someone elses preference, but since you went out of your way to ask... I want to see new designs in videogames, not just remakes of the real world. I would much rather see weapons like you see on Bioshock and stuff. I just find copying real world weapons to be uncreative.... It is the same reason I never bought Call of Duty 4, when everyone on the face of the Earth told me I had to buy it. Just my personal preference. I would rather see how far someone can stretch their imagination than to see how well you can duplicate the details of something in the real world. I'm sorry, but this forum isn't here to pat you on the back and have everyone say how damned brilliant you are. You ask for people's opinions and you'll get them, like it or not. The power armor if you look at it is extremely retro in design. It fits the era aesthetic. Its RETRO-futuristic in a RETRO-futuristic world. As for modern weapon mods and how well they've turned out, speak for yourself. Personally I find them revolting and in general don't agree with the presence of any modern weapon made after 1955 save for the Desert Eagle which gets a wave past as it was in the first Fallout. Even then I'd rather them make something up rather than use a pre-existing firearm. Though I will agree, shoop da whoop and furries are pretty dumb and don't belong at all. I mean seriously with all the mods out that change this game already it is just something that maybe people want to play as. I could see traveling the wasteland as a Ninja or an Assassin, why not a Delta Force soldier? Is that not what modding is all about, creating new ideas giving new life or a different view on things? Honestly where would ever1 be if the the only flavor was vanilla? After all Mothership Zeta anyone? The Special Ops Weapons Mod? (which I think is awesome by the way cannot remember the author, though kudos to him/her) And lastly I may just not have noticed but I never got the feeling that the theme for FO3 was around the 50's I always thought it was our future after the 2000's. Perception is reality I guess and maybe I figured there were not really that many super span freeways suspended in the air in the 50's. Also Oblivion has some really good mods that place you in a futuristic persona. I think that game would be fun to play as someone who got transported to an alternate reality, think of going through Oblivion with a Famas and ACOG or a shotty, I think it would be fun. Just my opinion. PS- I may be wrong about this as I did not have time to search for the answer but I don't think that the M82 or M107 Barret (which seems to be what the games 50cal. sniper rifle is modeled after) had been invented yet if the game takes place in the 50's. Is that the only flavor is FALLOUT.3) The special ops weapon mod falls under #1.4) Bethesda wouldn't know fallout if it walked up and punched them in the face. They've made that clear several times, and in general Zeta was an abomination best forgotten. Then you really really have not been paying attention. 50s based clothing, 50s based cars, 50s scifi based armor and weapons, 50s style suburban homes, the whole 50s style communist scare, vacuum tubes in all the electronics, even the space rocket in the museum of technology looks like something off a 1950s pulp cover... As for the super span highway, see entry 4 of the above, then play Fallout 1 to see the perfect example of what it should have looked like. Fallout 2 has some modern weapons due to executive meddling so its not quite as perfect the model. And honestly, the father this gets from that feted pile of maggot infested fecal matter that they called "oblivion", the better.
