2CoolCarlos
Plenty of the companions in FO3 and FNV reupload the game's voice files in the downloaded mod package. But I am told game content can't be uploaded online. What is the copyright law on this. Ultamitly, I want to add voice files to Skyrim. To do that, I need to create new lip files entirely, but they would be based on fallout's voice mp3s.
dangman4ever
AFAIK, those reuploaded voice files are fine legally since they came from the game they're being used in. In other words, the FNV voice files for that Melissa companion mod was fine since the files came from FNV itself. I don't think what you want to do (port one game's content to another) would work out legally since we're not even allowed to port FO3 only content to FNV. So from FNV to Skyrim is a no-go. bben46
Not all of the assets of each game were made by Bethesda. Some copyrighted material was licensed from the creator for just the specific game it appears in. Using that copyrighted material in another game - or mod for another game, opens up the possibility of a copyright lawsuit by the real owner of that copyright because they are not being paid for the use of their work in the other game. A lot of the stuff from FO3 that is not used in NV is in the actual game but not used - as that is already in NV - it can be used in mods. However, stuff that is not already contained in NV from FO3 is not allowed
