Increase the speed stat of the dog, or use packaging/scripting which forces them to run when traveling longer distances. 2. Adjust the aggression of the dog a bit lower, around 5, remove the dog from any "evil" flagged factions, and give the dog atleast 60 responsibility. If that doesn't do it, boost the personality stat on the dog or add the dog to a faction which has a small bonus to the player and any NPC groups that you have this problem with.
