Rhiana
Ok, so I have bab's and the shop that goes with it. I bought a robe there, and then decided hey this would be much better if it was considered armor. So, I made a new item in the game, in the armor section, used the same models it had when it was just a robe, added the health, and AR and set its value to 1000. And decided while I was at it I might as well add an enchantment, and chose resistance to elements. Then I dragged it into the vendor chest in the store, and saved the esp. So far, so good. But when I went into the game to buy it, the item appears in the store as planned, but has a price of 85000. So I went back into the construction set, changed the value to 75. Went back into the game, and it is now priced 83,576. Huh? The only thing I can think of that might be a factor is I do have OOO - living economy in my game. I read the tutorial for creating a shop, but it doesn't say anything about how to set the values/prices of items. Ideas of what I did wrong? Thanks In advance. Vagrant0
Enchantments add to item cost. As it is an apparel enchantment, you should not give the enchantment any cost if you are setting an item for a specific price. Beyond that, price is determined by the usual disposition, mercantile, haggle percentage thing as everything else. As this is a personal mod, I'm wondering why you're even setting a price since it kinda prevents you from acquiring and testing. If the intention is to add some element of restraint or limitation, that intention was pretty much done away with by having an enchantment worth over 60k. talion
EDIT: Sorry, Vagrant0, somehow, I didn't see your post before I made mine. To Rhiana: My post was pretty much covered in what Vagrant0 said, only he provided much more info than I did. Good luck fixing your mod!
Rhiana
Thanks for the responses. I am using this as a learning experience, for when I make a shop of my own. None of the tutorials I have found give much detail how how the cost of an item is set in shops. How do you know this is a 60,000 enchantment? The cost in the cs says 21. I knew that couldn't be right. Is it some sort of multiplier? I went back in and made some changes, now the value of the armor is at 75 and I changed the enchantment to ResistNormalWeaponsCommon, which says cost 3. In the game, this makes the price 14,973. That seems much better, but I still don't understand how the price is determined. Is there a tutorial or guide that explains this a little better? The ones have have just show how to set up the shop and the NPCs etc but don't give much information on costs/prices etc. Edit: Thinking as I go, If i set the enchanment cost to 0, would the cost of the item be closer to the value I assign to it? Are there conflict issues if I use edit and change the cost of an enchantment? Would I have to duplicate and rename the enchantment and set the cost of that one?
