sinewiz
My comment is regarding the many mods I've tried recently and why designers have so many things just lying around worth such huge value with no difficulty requirement built in. Can't weapons and objects values be tied into where a player is currently in the game? It just ruins the whole concept of a RPG for me when your starting off as a level one and you find a level 30 weapon worth 6000 gold just sitting there! I'm new to mods so I'm cluesless as to whether this is possible but it seems that every large mod I have tried so far has been guilty of this. I find this such a shame as so many of them seem to be of very high quality and I would love to use them but this just ruins it for me. Could someone please enlighten me as to whether they are all like this, and whether a leveling system can even be built into the value of these objects depending on where you are in the game? Thanks
madman132
My Recommendation to every "Newbie" to any game, not just oblivion, is to play the Game first instead of modding it to death before even playing. When you play it first and play it through, you'll have at least some Sense of what mods you may find useful. Most people play through the game at least to the extend where they know which weapons are "real" and which are modded, so they won't bother picking up the modded ones unless they like breaking their game. The mods are usually done like something special, like the long lost ruins of whatever with the special magic Powers of Karl-Heinz Müller, larger mods are usually something super special with weapons that are supposed to be super strong. Introducing leveled items is something rather difficult and annoying to implement, so most people wont even bother since people who download the moist are at their endgame anyways. sinewiz
Thanks. but with all due respect I'm not exactly a "newbie" to this game. I have played exactly 312 hours on the PS3 and am at level 44. While "modding" is a new experience I am experienced enough to know that if I am playing at a level 1 I should not be able to find a level weapon 30 valued at 6000 gold in the first 20 minutes of the game. In my mind this is just poor designing "provided they have a choice". This is the problem that I'm suggesting might be addressed by designers. It doesn't take an experienced PC Oblivion player to recognize that this ruins proper leveling of your character. In regards to your comment that mods were written for long playing experienced players goes, I have yet to see that stated in the description of even one mod up to this point. Possibly if there are going to be massive rewards for simply turning the game on this could be explained in the description of the mod by the designer to save those of us that wouldn't have had a clue otherwise. Iapetus
If you feel that strongly about it, crack the offending mod open in the CS, and remove the item.Mind you, I am not saying to then release the modded mod, nor would I ever suggest such a thing. However, as long as it is for your own personal use, no one will go trolls--t that you 'dared' to mod another person's work. Hell, I do it all the time. Matoyak
FCOM. Yeah, 'nuff said. FCOM is a combination of many overhaul mods that completely remake Oblivion into an altogether new beast... And it prevents what you are talking about unless you purposefully add a new mod that adds a super weapon afterward.Relevels weapons, enemies, everything. Difficult to set up but totally totally worth it, especially combined with the Race Balancing Project and Less Annoying Magic Experience.Leveled lists are the name of the game for the components of FCOM...
