Megatarius
I know there are similar threads, like "most memorable experience", but I started something new for this because it was caused by a glitch specifically, and yet I went with the glitch and it worked out really well. I was doing the arena again for the first time since installing OOO. I had read that OOO makes heavy modifications to the arena fighters, so at first I didn't realize it was bugging out on me. The first opponent ran away from me! There I was, an arena n00b myself (my character anyway) and people were cheering down on me. My first thought was "Is this some kind of joke Oscuro? Did you do this?" Well, I personally thought of many of the more disgusting stories of what went on in the Roman arena. I personally, myself, sitting in my apartment playing the game, found it to be a distasteful design choice. My character, on the other hand, just walked up to the cowering woman (my character is female as well) and said "Hold still and stop crying honey. I'll make it quick." SLICE. Then she walked back to the bloodworks wanting to smack Owyn across the face but not quite daring to. Well, it happened again with the second fight, so I stopped the game and only had to disable a few mods before I found out it was actually being caused by Reneer's Guard Overhaul. But looking back on it, that was a really cool experience caused by a mod bugging out somehow. I got me thinking about my character in a more serious light outside the context of the game. (I've said once before, she is from a book I wrote years ago that I want to rewrite.) Anything like this happen to anyone else?
DagonTheranis
I have had a bug that somehow made Jygallag spawn, complete with instant kill shockwave, in the middle of a fight with 20 bandits (long story), who all had full glass without the helmets. The wierd thing was, he was friendly! If I spoke to him, he was sheogorath!
David Brasher
There have been a few times when I have gone on long quests to gather multiple items on someone's list. I got back to give him or her the items, and he or she only took some of them, and the quest advanced anyway. Once when I was robbing Bravil castle, I got caught and hordes of guards were chasing me. But when I got outside the door, the two glitched golden saints from the Shivering Isles slew them. It made my escape easy, so that was good, but I wasn't intending for anyone to die during my burglary. A few times I have been fleeing for my life from a pack of monsters and near death when I fell through a floor or into a wall. I got to pause, rest, and heal before using TCL to re-enter the fray. Unavi
Yesterday, while i was playing with a new charater on a new fresh install of the game and with the difficulty level almost all the way to the right i started a fight with a female orc marauder. My char is a nice female Lineage elf that is training to be the best assasin in Tamriel (not very original huh?). Well anyway, the marauder was far to strong for me, she could kill me it two blows. I lured her out of the dungeond and jumped my way on a piller so she couldnt reach me and i could easily shoot her the 20 times required to kill her. Everything was going fine, till the orc didnt spawn right next to me on the pillar. It was a realy WTF moment for me. The next instant she hit me and threw me of the pillar and on the ground. I had less then 1/10 of health. The orc followed me down but when she hit the floor she died instantly even tough she had almost full health. I guess this was a glitch or maybe Oblivion is just so advanced that calculates simulates severe spinal wounds. I don't know but it surely saved my life. :)
jaosals42
I can't really remember any glitch helping me before. All I can remember are the annoying glitches that allow enemies pursuing you behind stone walls or whatnot to appear right beside you and attack you... Even though they were behind an impenetrable wall through which you were inaccessible... How...? Pretty annoying glitch that has happened more than a few times...
stars2heaven
Im not sure it counts as a glitch, since it's normal behavior for the npc, but I ran into a mountain lion at a low level while doing the Aleswell quest. Since I couldnt see it and it was killing me pretting fast I ran to the top of the tower and dropped down onto one of the broken ledges bellow. I was thinking it just wouldnt be able to get to me there and I could heal and try to shoot it with arrows. Instead it just kept jumping down trying to get me but always jumped too far. So it ran back up again. Each time it fell it got hurt, so it killed itself eventually.
Eiries
Couple days ago I was coaxing a horde of about 5 skeletons (damn that summoning) through an ayleid ruin. I thought it'd be creative to use the Tractor Beam from Midas' Magic to throw them towards a dropping spike trap. Well... it ended picking up the entire pit, causing all the skeletons to drop into the endless abyss beyond. Don't think I'll be heading there any time soon, now that there's a huge floating pit stuck in the corner of the room. Actually, now that I think about it, I should probably bring that up to Xilver... XD
ptbptb
An opening gate in the sewers knocked me through the floor into the 'water layer'. I could swim around the whole of the dungeon area looking at everything from under the floor. :) I had to use tcl to get back to the surface eventually, though.
