If you are still reading this, I must say, if you took your time to really learn the intricacies of x-3, you should have no problem with EVE. I have played both games quite a bit, progression is of course much slower in EVE since each skill must be trained over time, but they are very similar. Eventually EVE does become very very intricate with ship loadouts and planning the best skills to train in a certain timeframe however. And PVP is a bear to learn, but take it one step at a time, if you can play x-3 at a high level (building stations, setting up factories, managing trade/battle fleets), you can do EVE.
